1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how DogearAI ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Service. We respect your privacy and handle your data in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: an email address and hashed password (if you bind an email), or an anonymous account identifier if you use the Service without binding an email.

Memory Content: the notes and text you submit, the summaries we generate from them, the spaces they are classified into, and related metadata (titles, timestamps, source labels).

Payment Information: collected and processed solely by Dodo Payments. We do not receive or store your card details — only subscription status and amount.

Technical Data: IP address, browser type, language preference, and access timestamps, used for security and to operate the Service.

3. How We Use Information

• Provide and maintain the Service (classification, compression, storage, context assembly);
• Process subscriptions and refunds;
• Detect language preferences and assemble your context within a token budget;
• Troubleshoot, secure the Service, and prevent abuse and fraud;
• Communicate about service updates and security incidents;
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your memory content to train AI models.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following:

• Supabase — database and authentication; stores your account and memories.
• Dodo Payments — Merchant of Record for payments; collects billing information at checkout.
• Model provider (DeepSeek / DMX API) — receives the text you submit in order to classify and summarize it. Memory extraction is sent to an OpenAI-compatible API for processing only, not for training.
• Vercel — hosts the application and records access logs.
• Legal requirements — when required to comply with a subpoena, court order, or to prevent serious violations.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies to maintain your login session and remember your language preference. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage.

6. Data Retention

• Account and memory data: retained while your account exists; deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Payment records: retained as required by applicable tax and accounting regulations.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access and export the data we hold about you (the Service provides a one-click export);
• Delete your account and associated data (the Service provides account deletion; some records may be retained to meet legal obligations);
• Withdraw consent to processing;
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Data Security

We protect your data using HTTPS in transit, row-level security on the database, hashed passwords and tokens, and encrypted secrets. Please note that no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

10. Updates

This policy may be updated from time to time. For material changes we will notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
